we repeat what we don’t repair

I am passionate about helping people heal and overcome maladaptive patterns to experience more meaningful and fulfilling lives. I have a natural affinity in working with young adults and HSPs. I work collaboratively with my clients to understand and overcome the challenges they are facing; as well as fostering independence and personal empowerment.

About Amy

I received my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and Bachelor of Arts in Social Work from California State University, Long Beach. I am currently in my doctoral program and working towards my Ph. D to further the depth of my work as a psychotherapist. My passion to become a psychotherapist grew from my experience working as a child welfare social worker. Through this experience, my drive to help people heal from childhood trauma propelled me in the direction of becoming a Marriage and Family Therapist. My work and interning experiences include working in addiction recovery; and working with disenfranchised youth, with a focus on complex trauma, co-occurring disorders, and addiction.

I have been described as a warm and supportive therapist, and I see my clients through a compassionate and nonjudgmental lens. I wholeheartedly believe in a person’s ability to heal and grow with support through therapy. I have a deep passion for helping others heal and transform their experiences. I strive to help my clients gain empowerment and growth through the therapeutic alliance. I believe in providing clients with a supportive space, as well as effective interventions to foster self discovery and encourage the healing process. My practice specialties include trauma, addiction, co-occurring disorders, codependency, anxiety, attachment, and self esteem issues. I utilize mind body interventions, somatic work, IFS, and EMDR in my practice.

I am currently providing consultation hours towards EMDR Certification as an EMDR Consultant in Training. I am certified through EMDRIA. If you are currently seeking EMDR certification and need consultation hours, please find more information about this service by clicking below.
